Although there appears that there are significant number of good candidates for the job on labor market, practice often denies us. It is therefore important to master the advanced interview techniques to be able to identify in the shortest possible time, whether the candidate we are talking to is the right person for our position or the one who is skilled in self-marketing.
It seems that the most important thing in the recruitment process the way in which you will announce the need for a particular job position. The way of formulate a job vacancy will bring the number of those who will recognize a professional challenge in it. In this case, quantity can contribute to quality. A larger number of candidates will definitely provide a wider choice in choosing those who might be right. It is therefore important that you begin by selecting the word and energy that you will pass, through these words, to the labor market.
When the biographies go to you, keep the defined job position conditions, otherwise you can lose the compass. A good recruiter will, in the selection of biographies, also take care of recognizing a wider picture and through the skills that the candidate shows in his CV, see further from a simple professional experience. Form of professional biographies and motivation letters speak a lot about the candidate, but you are certainly dealing with content. Maybe someone is weak with aesthetics, but good in what can personally show.
Make sure that, when scheduling an interview, you are clear and specific, but also leave enough time for candidate presentation and your vacation between the two interviews, if you have more than one interview for that day. It is very important that you take time for impressions and fully concentrate on the next candidate. And always keep in mind that a job interview for candidates is not a pleasant process, so be aware of their insecurity or nervousness.
During a conversation with a candidate, ask her/him questions of an open type, which will give her/him the opportunity to present herself/himself in more details. Take care about their professional experience presentations. For example, if she /he take into account the chronology of presenting her/his professional experience, it is assured that her/he is most likely a systematic and analytical person. If a candidate takes into account the emphasis on relevant experience and emphasizes the characteristics and knowledge that are of importance for that job position, you should know that she/he is a person who is concentrated and disciplined, but especially someone who has a clear focus and direction.
He / she will tell you a lot through nonverbal communication. In the end, we communicate with each other 75% non-verbal. It's important to keep track of his / her non-verbal signs. Make sure that the emotions they express (joy, fear, insecurity ...) agree with the mimic or gesture that follows it. Manipulative people, most often acting emotions, so it's possible that what he / she wants that you see , will not be the same with what they show. If she/he "bump" with a leg or crochet on the table, it may be a person who is impatient or nervous. If her/his pupils are spreading dramatically when speaking, she/he may speak falsehood. If she/he holds something in her/his hand while she/he speaks, she/he needs a focus.
In the end, thank her/him for the interest for the job position that she/he was applying for and complete the promise that you will inform her/him of the outcome. Kindly feedback is a professional act, but also a way to encourage the candidate and give her/him support.
